With regards to the results of the official investigation announced yesterday, August, 19, 2020, by H.E. Mohieldin Touq, Minister of higher education, Head of the esteemed fact-finding committee launched upon the directives of H.E. Omar Ar-Razzaz, Prime Minister, to investigate the tragic events in Ein Al-Basha district three weeks ago and taking into consideration the information published on the same date with reference to the relevant conclusions of the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission, the Embassy of Ukraine to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has the honor to state the following.

After taking an official stand on the issue and delivering commentaries on the 3^rd and 4^th of August, the Embassy deliberately took a hold and respected the silence mode regarding the incident in Ein Al-Basha district. This course of action was called for out of true respect that we have towards the Government of Jordan and in order to enable the relevant Jordanian authorities to carry out an impartial, comprehensive study of the situation free from pressure and interference.

Standing together with the wider Jordanian public, we have awaited for the official results establishing a true picture of everything that happened.

The Embassy welcomes the prompt, systematic and professional work carried out by all of the experts and high representatives of Jordan involved, remaining deeply grateful to all who stayed honest and truthful to the cause. We appreciate the timely response of the Government of Jordan and reiterate our full confidence in the high standards and tradition of excellence of the Jordanian Government and its Law Enforcement system, which was further proved by the effective investigation.

It is extremely important for us that the impeccable reputation of the Ukrainian side and the high quality of Ukrainian poultry products have been reconfirmed, of which we stated plain and clear from the very beginning. The Embassy is glad that it was stated officially by Jordanian Government.

Like we said before, global market is not ruled by emotions, it is governed by the demand and one’s ability to supply the best product. Ukraine is the global top food security provider delivering the best product and this position is well deserved and time proven. Our poultry products have been the leading export item for over 10 years earning a remarkable reputation and no complaints.

Ukraine as well as Jordan has a long track record of high standards and export control and products certification and will not allow to be mired in the attempts to cast a shadow on its high reputation as a trustworthy and reliable partner for the MENA region.

Thus, we would like to call on all actors involved in the recent campaign disparaging the reputation of Ukraine to refrain from resorting to shady tactics and to respect the practices of fair market competition. 

Capitalizing on the tragic events is an immoral step to take.  Weaponizing the media is a dangerous thing to do and has to be deterred and prevented. Thus, those involved in the media or behind the scenes campaign aimed to distort the image of Ukraine and to damage its reputation, have exposed themselves.

The Embassy will act accordingly taking all of the circumstances into consideration.
