I appreciate the opportunity to welcome you at this year’s Annual Diplomatic Bazaar which is held under the patronage of our esteemed friend Her Royal Highness Princess Basma bint Talal.

This year marks 60th Anniversary since the establishing of Mubarrat Um Al Hussein Centre in 1958. During these years the Centre has been performing the noble task of caring for boys who live in extremely difficult conditions. Hundreds of children have become a united family under the umbrella of the organization that has been protecting and helping them. Members of this family care and support each other through years living their adult lives.

For decades diplomatic missions accredited to Jordan have been supporting the activities of Mubarrat Um Al Hussein in particular by holding the Annual Diplomatic Bazaar: the proceedings of this event go to supporting its noble mission.

Today we are honored to continue this tradition and welcome all of the participants, to celebrate the outstanding diversity, hospitality and traditions represented here.

I hope that this year’s proceedings will break a record set in the previous years and call upon our colleagues to exert every effort performing our important and noble task.

I thank again organizers of this event and especially professional staff of Her Royal Highness Office. We invite our guests to visit the pavilions prepared by the esteemed diplomatic missions and feel the taste of diverse customs and traditions and of course to the Ukrainian pavilion and the food court to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Mubarrat Um al-Hussein Centre and watch the performance of children band “UA Kids” from NGO “Ukrainian House in Jordan”.

And last but not least I would like to use this opportunity to present to your Highness first copy of the book written by famous Jordanian journalist and writer Omar al-Armouti with our Embassy support about the important stages of Jordanian-Ukrainian Relations. This book contains pages and pictures about the previous colorful Diplomatic bazaars under patronage of your Highness. We will transfer this book to the library of Mubarrat and other libraries in the Kingdom and Ukraine.
