On August 10, 2010, Ambassador of Ukraine in Jordan Sergiy Pasko had a meeting with the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Jordan Walid Al-Maani.

At the meeting the Ukrainian Ambassador expressed readiness of the Ukrainian side to expand cooperation with Jordan in the educational sphere. He noted that from 1992 over 6 thousand Jordanian students graduated from Ukrainian universities and colleges and about 3 thousand Jordanians currently study in Ukraine. In this regards he proposed to the Jordanian side to agree to recognize decrees and diplomas of all Ukrainian higher education institutions that have the status of “National”. W.Al-Maani said that the Jordanian side would study this proposal and would inform about its decision in the nearest future.

The head of the Ukrainian diplomatic mission also briefed the Jordanian official on the development of the medical field in Ukraine, in particular about opening of the cyber clinic in Ukraine for radiosurgical cancer treatment, which is the first of its kind in the whole of Eastern Europe. In the opinion of W.Al-Maani, who is well-known Jordanian neurosurgeon, the opening of the cyber clinic in Ukraine for radiosurgical cancer treatment by the cyber knife of the 4th generation, is an important step in the development of the medical field in Ukraine.
