Recognition of Ukraine: December 28, 1991.

Establishment of diplomatic relations: April 19, 1992.

Diplomatic missions: Embassy of Ukraine in Amman (opened in February, 2003), Embassy of Jordan in Türkiye (from 1997 till December, 2020, the Embassy Jordan in the Russian Federation was responsible for Ukraine). 

On July 16, 2024, the decree of His Majesty Abdullah II, the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan was issued approving the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Jordan to appoint H.E. Mr. Hazem Issam Al-Khatib Al-Tamimi, Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the Republic of Türkiye as the non-resident Ambassador to Ukraine.

 

Official contacts:

1995 - political consultations at the level of deputy ministers of foreign affairs were held in Amman.

July 24-31, 1995 – the delegation of Ukrainian experts headed by H.E.Mr.K.Hryshchenko, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine visited Amman in order to study the possibilities of establishing bilateral political, trade and economic cooperation.

1996 - political consultations at the level of deputy ministers of foreign affairs were held in Amman (the Ukrainian delegation at the consultations was headed by H.E. Mr. K.Hryshchenko, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine).

August, 2001 - the working visit to Jordan of H.E. Mr. Bezsmertny, Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and H.E. Mr. S.Pasko Chargé d'Affaires Ad Interim of Ukraine in Syria with the aim of establishing inter-parliamentary cooperation. The negotiations with H.E. Mr. Zaid Al-Rifai, President of the Jordanian Senate, were held.

April 23-24, 2002 – the official visit of H.E. President of Ukraine.

June 22, 2011 - the official visit of His Majesty King of Jordan.

February 18-20, 2012 – the official visit of H.E. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. 

April 16-17, 2012 - the official visit of H.E. President of Ukraine.

September 30 - October 4, 2012 – the official visit of H.E. President of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Jordan.

August 23-25, 2016 – the official visit of H.E. Mayor of Amman to Ukraine.

May 7-11, 2018 – the visit of H.E. Minister of Finance of Ukraine to Jordan.

July 16, 2018 – the telephone talk between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan.

November 26-29, 2019 – the visit of the Minister of Justice of Jordan to Ukraine with the aim of signing four bilateral agreements in the consular and legal spheres.

November 2-4, 2020 - the visit to Ukraine of Major General Youssef Al Hunaiti, Chairman  of the Joint Committee of the Chiefs of Staff of the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army.

January 25, 2021 – the telephone talk between H.E. Mr. D.Kuleba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and H.E. Mr. A.Al-Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan.

February 22, 2021 - the meeting of H.E. Mr. O.Uruskyi, Vice-Prime Minister-Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine with Major General Youssef Al Hunaiti, Chairman  of the Joint Committee of the Chiefs of Staff of the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army within the framework of their participation in the international exhibition of military equipment IDEX-2021 (Abu Dhabi, UAE).

April 13, 2021 – the telephone talk between H.E. Mr. V.Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine and His Majesty Abdallah II, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

October 25, 2021 - political consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs of Ukraine and Jordan at the level of H.E. Mr. D.Senyk, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine (CDTO) and H.E. Mr. Y.Bataineh, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan.

April 5, 2022 - the meeting of H.E. Mr. D.Kuleba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine with H.E. Mr. A.Al-Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan in Warsaw.

June 13, 2023 – the telephone talk of H.E. Mr. D.Kuleba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine with H.E. Mr. A.Al-Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan.

August 5, 2023 – the meeting of delegations of Ukraine and Jordan on the sidelines of the summit at the level of national security advisers in Jeddah (Jordan was represented by Major General A.Husni, Director of the General Intelligence Department).

June 15-16, 2024 – the meeting of the delegations of Ukraine and Jordan during the First Inaugural Peace Summit (Bürgenstock, Switzerland). Jordan was represented at the level of H.E. Mr. Ibrahim Al-Jazi, Minister of State for the the Prime Ministry Affairs.
