On August 10, 2010, Ambassador of Ukraine in Jordan S.Pasko met with the Minister of Transport of Jordan A.Batayneh.

During the meeting the two sides discussed the current state and prospects for development of the Ukrainian-Jordanian relations in various fields. In particular, they agreed on the need to revitalize the Ukrainian-Jordanian dialogue in the transportation field.

Both sides expressed hope that expert level consultations on the possible signing of the intergovernmental agreement on road transport would be held this September. The Ukrainian Ambassador and the Jordanian Minister agreed that concluding such an agreement would contribute to increasing the volume of land transportation between Ukraine and Jordan in light of the considerable transit potential of the two countries.

The Ukrainian side also showed interest in participation in the project on construction of the railway network in the Kingdom, given the considerable level of expertise and capabilities of Ukrainian companies in this sphere. A.Batayneh expressed hope that the Ukrainian side will take part in the respective tender procedures that would be announced by the end of this year.
