November 28, 2010. The Consul General of Ukraine in New York laid a wreath at the Monument in the memory of the victims of Holodomor 1932-1933 in Ukraine, located near the Saint Ascension Church in Clifton (NJ). The mentioned Monument is a copy of the Memorial to the victims of famine in Ukraine, established at St. Michael's Square in Kyiv.
Consul General took part in the mass and commemorative divine service and made public an Address of the Minister of the Foreign Affairs of Ukraine K.Gryshchenko to the World Ukrainians on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the tragedy.
S.Pohoreltsev also stressed the importance of preserving the memory of the sad events of 1932-1933 in Ukraine, which has to secure Ukraine’s future, its free and progressive development and further integration into the global democratic community.
