On 10 March 2011, Ambassador of Ukraine in Jordan Dr. Sergiy Pasko visited Madaba where he met with met the city mayor Mr. Aref Abo Rajoh and the Madaba province governor Mr. Waleed Abdeh.

During the visit the Ambassador was briefed on the development of the Madaba region, in particular, in the sphere of tourism. The city mayor underlined the importance of signing in the future of an agreement on establishing sister-city relations between Cherkasy and Madaba for development of inter-regional relations between Ukraine and Jordan. In his turn, the Ambassador informed the mayor about the potential of the Cherkasy region and the city of Cherkasy and expressed his vision on activation of the cooperation in this area.

Besides, the Ambassador also met with the Jordanian citizens who graduated from the Ukrainian universities.
