On 18 August 2001, Ambassador of Ukraine Sergiy Pasko met in Amman with the Minister of Heath of Jordan Abdellatif Woreikat.

The two sides discussed the prospects for enhancing the bilateral cooperation in the field of health and medical science after the signing in June this year of a respective intergovernmental agreement, which was concluded during the visit of King of Jordan Abdullah II to Ukraine.

The Ukrainian diplomat informed the Jordanian official on the preparation progress for holding next month the first Ukrainian-Jordanian medical congress at the Vinnytsya National Medical University. From his side, A.Woreikat expressed his hope that this event would provide an impetus for upgrading contacts between Ukrainian and Jordanian medical communities to a qualitatively new level. The two sides also discussed the issue of studying of Jordanian citizens at Ukrainian medical universities and noted with satisfaction that Ukraine is one of the most attractive places among Jordanians for getting their higher education.
