On 24 August 2011, the Jordan TV channel aired twice during its evening news broadcasts an interview of Ambassador of Ukraine Sergiy Pasko given on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence. The Ukrainian diplomat briefed the Jordanian viewers on current developments in Ukraine, its foreign policy, state and development prospects of Ukrainian-Jordanian relations, as well as the ceremony of solemn hoisting of the State Flag on the day before.



On the same day a leading Arabic-language daily newspaper “Al-Rai” published an article by H.Odwan on Ukraine’s anniversary based on the press-conference of S.Pasko. Jordanian media also informed about sending by King of Jordan Abdullah II to the Ukrainian President V.Yanukovych of a telegram, congratulating the Ukrainian leader with the National Day.



Throughout the day the Ukrainian Embassy received numerous greetings from various state bodies of the Hashemite Kingdom and local business circles on the occasion of the Independence Day.
