26 October 2011 the Ambassador of Ukraine Sergiy Pasko together with the Minister of Culture of Jordan Salah Djarar inaugurated the opening of the art exhibition “Jordan in the eyes of Ukrainian artists” in the Royal Cultural Center, which was held until 2 November 2011.

The mentioned event was dedicated to the 20th Anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence and the 20th Anniversary of Ukrainian-Jordanian Diplomatic Relations. The works of art of the National painters of Ukraine – Mariya Ralko, Stanislav Adamenko, famous Ukrainian painters Vladislav Guriyev, Nadiya Pinchuk as well as talented Ukrainian photopainter Mykola Syrotenko and others were presented at the exhibition.

The Minister of Culture of Kingdom S.Djarar, Ambassador of Ukraine in Jordan S.Pasko as well as representatives of the diplomatic and cultural circles of Jordan took part in this event. The heads of the diplomatic missions of Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Georgia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia as well as the European Union visited the exhibition.

The opening ceremony was accompanied by the singing of the famous Arab singer Violetta Alyousef, who performed the Ukrainian and Arab songs. She also took an active part in the Days of Jordan Culture in Ukraine (12-17 September 2011).

The representatives of the main local mass media also attended this event. The articles on the Ukrainian art exhibition were published in such daily newspapers of Jordan as “Ad-Dustur”, “Ad-Diyar” and “Al-Rai”. The interviews of the Ambassador of Ukraine in Jordan S.Pasko and the Minister of culture of Jordan S.Djarar on the bilateral cooperation in the cultural field as well as video reportage on the mentioned event were translated at the First National Television Channel of Jordan.

Next year it is planned to hold the similar event in Ukraine with participation of the same Ukrainian as well as Jordanian painters.
