On June 22, 2026, H.E. Mrs. Myroslava Shcherbatiuk, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, held a meeting with members of the Jordanian-Ukrainian Friendship Committee of the Senate of the National Assembly of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

M. Shcherbatiuk welcomed the decision of the Jordanian side, taken in May 2026, to establish a Friendship Committee with Ukraine in the Senate and noted that this step would contribute to enhancing the Ukrainian-Jordanian political dialogue and further developing bilateral cooperation in the trade, economic, cultural, and educational spheres, as well as in other areas of mutual interest.

The Ambassador of Ukraine briefed the Jordanian senators on the current situation in Ukraine, which continues to suffer from the full-scale military aggression of the Russian Federation.

In this context, M. Shcherbatiuk noted that the Ukrainian side highly appreciates the principled position of the Jordanian leadership in supporting the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and inviolability of the internationally recognized borders of Ukraine.

Regarding the Palestinian issue, the Ambassador emphasized Ukraine’s support for the two-state solution and its respect for the historical Hashemite Custodianship over the Muslim and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. In this context, it was noted that Ukraine highly appreciates the role of His Majesty King Abdullah II in promoting interfaith dialogue and preserving the religious and cultural heritage, as well as the special status, of Jerusalem.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed further contacts within the framework of the interparliamentary friendship groups of the legislative bodies of Ukraine and Jordan, including participation in joint events and the exchange of visits.
