The Ambassador of Ukraine to Jordan Serhiy Pasko gave interview on the considerable intensification of the bilateral relations between Ukraine and Jordan in 2012 to the First Channel of the National Television of Jordan.

During the interview the Ambassador of Ukraine underlined that 2012 was symbolic for the bilateral Ukrainian-Jordanian relations as this year Ukraine and Jordan celebrated 20^th Anniversary of establishment of the diplomatic relations and exchanged a number of bilateral visits at the highest and high levels. Particularly, in April 2012 the official visit of the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych to Jordan took place. In the frameworks of this visit the Ukrainian-Jordanian business forum was held. In February the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Kostyantyn Gryschenko visited Jordan. In the framework of this visit the meeting of the Heads of the Ukrainian diplomatic missions in the countries of the Middle East, Iran and North Africa was held in the Embassy of Ukraine in Amman under chairmanship of the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and with the participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Jordan Nasser Judeh.

In general during this year 9 bilateral agreements were signed.

In April of 2012 the Second meeting of the Joint Ukrainian-Jordanian Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was held in Amman.

The bilateral trade turnover increased and according to the results of the year of 2012 may exceed $0,5 billion.

In October of 2012 the Head of the Lower House of the Jordanian Parliament Abdelkarim Dughmi made the first in the history of the bilateral relations official visit to Ukraine at the head of the delegation of 9 Jordanian people deputies – members of the Group of Friendship with Ukraine.

The cultural and humanitarian cooperation was intensified. The quantity of Jordanian students, who wanted to learn in Ukraine, increased in 2012 to 800 persons.

The drafting of the working plan of the Ukrainian diplomatic mission for 2013, which will promote further intensification of the bilateral relations, is being completed.

Availing this opportunity, the Ambassador of Ukraine congratulated the Ukrainian citizens and all Christians of Jordan with coming New Year and Christmas.
