The Memorial contains the belongings of the fighters who have been fighting for the independence and sovereignty of our country, for every inch of Ukrainian land and for our happy future. Also it contains the books and poems written by or dedicated to the defenders, and the Hero Corner as a tribute to the Hero of Ukraine Serhiy Tsymbal, who was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine.
These showpieces will forever retain the pain of a bloody war and terrible losses.
Memorial was opened on occasion of Defender of Ukraine Day by Charge d’Affairs of Ukraine in Jordan Mr. Dmytro Byliev, honoring the memory of those who fell for our Motherland with a moment of silence and kneeling in front of the Memorial in gratitude to all who fight for the peace in Ukraine.
Ukrainian poetess Victoria Brychkova-Abu Qadoum, whose poetry collections have also become a part of the Memorial, read some of her own poems dedicated to the defenders of Ukrainian land.
The Embassy is grateful to all those who contributed to the creation of the Memorial and helped to collect the items presented therein. We hope that every Ukrainian living or staying in Jordan will visit the Embassy more than once to pay tribute to our defenders at this Memorial.
The Embassy expresses its special thanks to the All-Ukrainian Association of combatants, the chairman of the Donbass Miners' Union, the widow of Hero of Ukraine Serhiy Tsymbal, the fighter Ihor “Pianist” Mykhailyshyn.
