As part of the events dedicated to the 205th anniversary of the birth of Taras Shevchenko, the staff of the Embassy of Ukraine in Jordan, along with representatives of the Ukrainian and Jordanian community and employees of the Municipality of Greater Amman, planted 85 Ukrainian tree saplings.
Trees were planted in the Park of Jordanian-Ukrainian Friendship, which was founded in March 2015 in commemoration of the Great Kobzar. The park begins on Taras Shevchenko Street, where the diplomatic mission is located, and extends to the Abu Aisha Mosque.
This time, more than 700 previously planted Ukrainian trees were completed with walnut, lilac, ginkgo biloba, cornus mas and bereich, donated by the National Botanic Garden. Named after M.M. Hryshko of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Director N.V. Zaimenko, Deputy Director, MI Shumik) and delivered free of charge by the airline Bravo Airways (president of Bravo Airways R.Merhej, a representative in Levant Ch.Meouchi).
The Embassy is grateful to the mentioned institutions and Mr. Talal Amro Family for significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian Jordanian relations.
The Embassy as well expresses its gratitude to the Mayor city Yusef al-Shawarba and the staff of the Municipality of Greater Amman for the assistance in preparing and conducting the event.
