On February 22, a significant cultural event took place in the capital of Jordan – for the first time the frontman of the well-known Ukrainian band SKAI Oleh Sobchuk arrived to Amman with the acoustic concert.
The concert was organized by Ukrainian activist and clerical figure pastor Mikhail Reznik with the assistance of the Embassy of Ukraine in Ammanand participation of NGO "Ukrainian House in Jordan". The audience was able to enjoy the quality of contemporary Ukrainian music in live performance for free. To hear the national rock-star, who sang the well-known hits of the band, many Ukrainian community representatives, as well as local connoisseurs of Ukrainian culture came.
The event was launched by Ambassador of Ukraine to Jordan Dr. Serhiy Pasko, who in his speech pointed out audience at key stages of activities and achievements of the band SKAI and reminded guests about the momentous events of modern Ukrainian history, anniversaries of which are marked these days. Also the Ambassador newly told all Ukrainians about the upcoming presidential elections and called on compatriots to take part in them for the benefit of our state.
After opening remarks of the Ambassador the head of NGO "Ukrainian House in Jordan» Mrs. Olga Zavydnyak greated the singer and along with the student Ms. Vlada Lahoda presented to the audiencethe authors' and Ukrainian songs.
During the concert Oleh Sobchuk not only irocked the audience with the hits of the of SKAI band, but also actively communicated with them, thus the concert resembled a warm meeting of friends. During his dialogue with the audience the singer asked to honor the memory of all who died in consequence of the tragic events on the Maidan, which took place 5 years ago, and continuing Russian aggression with minute of silence.
After the exciting concert the guests have got an opportunity to talk with the artist and personally thank him for the great performance as well as to share emotions and experiences with each other over a cup of tea or coffee in a friendly atmosphere.
