International linguistic and literary competition of pupils and students named after Taras Shevchenko was held in Amman

On February 21, 2017 at the initiative of the Embassy of Ukraine in Jordan, the 7th International linguistic and literary competition of pupils and students named after Taras Shevchenko was held in UkrainianCulturalCenter “Vodograi” among Ukrainian community in Jordan.
At the beginning of the event the Third Secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine Ivan Lukasevych delivered welcoming speech, during which he wished participants inspiration and noticed that the date of competition wasn’t chosen by accident, because since 2000 every year on February 21 marks International Mother Language Day.
Head of UCC “Vodograi” K.Kolesnikova - Chairman of Jury explained the conditions of the competition and wished participants success.
On the occasion of Maslianitsa week (Butter week/Pancake week) all guests of UCC “Vodograi” had a chance to try Ukrainian pancakes.
