Mayors of Amman, Kiev discuss closer ties

Amman, Aug. 26 (Petra) -- Mayor of Amman Aqel Beltaji on Friday concluded an official visit to the Ukrainian capital city of Kiev, where he held talks with Mayor of Kiev Vitali Klitschko on ways to bolster ties between the two cities.
While in Ukraine, Beltaji received the Order of Merit 2nd Class of Ukraine, in appreciation of his efforts to enhance relations between the two countries.
The mayor of Kiev also thanked the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) for the support it is providing to the Ukrainian embassy activities. Last year, the GAM opened a friendship public part in front of the Ukrainian embassy in Amman and a street in Amman was named after the great Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko.
