Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Jordan, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Egypt delivered the speech at the opening ceremony of the conference.

During the first day three sessions were hold on 1) common security in the Mediterranean region, 2) addressing violent extremism and radicalization that lead to terrorism, 3) the role of interfaith/intercultural dialogue.
