On 5 June 2012 the Ambassador of Ukraine to Jordan S.Pasko took part in the opening ceremony of the International Conference “Seizing Tourism market opportunities in times of rapid change”. The Conference will be held on 5-6 June 2012 at the Dead Sea under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II.

The terms of holding this important international event coincides with the celebration of the 200 years of the rediscovery of Petra.

The Conference is jointly organized by the World Tourism Organization, the World Travel and Tourism Council and the Ministry of Tourism of and Antiquities of Jordan.

The participants of the Conference are the representatives of the public and private tourism sector from the different countries of the world. The Ukrainian delegation, which consists of 15 members – the representatives of the touristic companies as well as journalists, also participates in this international event.

The participants of the two days Conference will discuss the defies and opportunities facing tourism in view of the current economic and social changes, investment potential of tourism and the competitive touristic destinations.
