Diplomats of the Embassy told the pupils about the relations of Ukraine with other countries in particular with EU member-states, contribution of Ukraine to tackling international terrorism, approaches of Ukraine to the resolution of the Palestinian issue, defense doctrine of Ukraine, its’ stance on the Millennium Goals, nuclear weapons, its’ involvement in the UN, Ukraine’s plans to join the EU, participation of Ukraine in the Corruption Development Programme.

Model United Nations conferences are simulations of United Nations forums such as the General Assembly and its Main Committees, the Security Council and the Economic and Social Council. They also simulate United Nations agencies, funds and programmes, in addition to the Organization’s regional economic commissions. Pupils take on the roles of diplomats, debating international crises, negotiating difficult global issues, drafting and adopting resolutions. This year the event is expected to gather around 5 thousand participants from all over the world.
