The event was organized by the Jordanian Natioanl Commision for Women and United Nations in Jordan, and was held ubder the patronage of HRH Princess Basma bint Talal.

Duting the speech HRH Princess Basma reported that women are still subjected to all forms of oppression, whether in the public or privat sphere. In gender gap index of 2014, Jordan ranks 13 among 16 countries in the region, or 38 among 40 other upper middle-income countries.

HRH Princess urges youth never to accept that violence can provide a solution, do not allow yourselves to become either its instigators or its victims. She says be the builders of your homes, communities, and country.
