On this day in 1991, the Parliament of Ukraine, Verkhovna Rada, endorsed the Act of Proclamation of State Independence of Ukraine. In a consequent national referendum on December 1, 1991, Ukrainians expressed their solid support. This manifestation of the collective will of Ukrainians was a step towards a brighter and more secure future.

For each and every Ukrainian at home and abroad, this day has a sacred inherent meaning testifying to the fact that after centuries of struggle Ukraine has renewed its independence. Therefore it is a time to reflect upon the path embarked by the State, it is a time to remember heroes of Ukraine who sacrificed their lives for its independence, sovereignty and the right of our people to choose their future with Europe and within the European family of states.

A thorough look at current international political landscape in a number of regions bears marks of a return of narratives and concepts of the past in its most malevolent manifestations. Today the Ukrainian people continue to defend their right to be free from external aggression by the Russian Federation. Ukrainians are defending their homeland with dignity, fighting on its territory withing the internationally recognized borders against the Russian armed forces, pro-Russian mercenaries and Russia affiliated terrorist groups. For 30 years, Ukrainians have demonstrated solid character and willingness to pay the highest price for the right to have a future. In Ukraine the future wins, the future wins in a long historical perspective, which gives us hope and serves as a source of unity. Yet at the same time it leaves the strategic opponents of our State unnerved. Whatever "articles or concepts" the enemies of Ukraine write, they will remain in the past, erased by history, and Ukraine will go into the future with the energy and strength of generations of Ukrainians who have been born and lived in an independent sovereign Ukraine.

Ukraine celebrates the 30th anniversary of Independence with confidence, which stems from practical achievements in key areas. As of 2021, our country has secured the status of one of the most efficient technological, industrial platforms in Europe with the active development of the sector of innovative information technologies. The IT sector brings Ukraine up to $ 5 billion annually, the industry is estimated at $ 17 billion and continues to grow dynamically. More than 100 R&D centers located in Ukraine contribute to its scientific and technological progress. Ukraine is a key transport and logistics hub connecting Europe, Middle East and Asia. 19 free trade agreements with 47 countries contribute to deeper integration of Ukraine into the global trade and industry networks. The role of one of the global leaders in the field of food security makes our country an active contributor to world security in times of growing threats of global hunger and food crisis against the background of the negative impact of  COVID-19 pandemic.

This year has demonstrated active development of bilateral dialogue between Ukraine and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Due to the proactive stance of the two sides, Ukraine and Jordan have successfully resumed high-level political dialogue. Effective coordination between His Excellency President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and His Majesty King Abdullah II allowed the two sides to define priorities for the development of bilateral relations in the short and medium term and start its practical implementation with particular emphasis on trade and economic as well as defense and security cooperation.

We firmly believe that the only reliable guarantee of Ukraine's prosperity and future is  further strengthening of Ukrainian state sovereignty and democracy, investing in a competitive market economy, active participation in international political domain and achieving key goals along the path of the euroatlantic integration.
