At Bethany beyond Jordan, the place where Christ was baptised by John the Baptist, the world church leaders held prayed for peace headed by Beatitude Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos III.

The JordanValley meeting also attracted the heads and representatives of the world Orthodox churches from Bulgaria, Cyprus, Finland, Georgia, Romania, Russia and Serbia.
