Ancient city of Madaba is the twin-city of Cherkasy in Ukraine. Senators and deputies of the National Assembly of Jordan and Jordanian leaders of clans and sheikhs took part in the meeting.

The Head of the Embassy informed about the latest developments in Crimea. In particular, Dr. Serhiy Pasko reported, that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine expressed its strong and unequivocal protest against the recognition by the Russian Federation of the self-proclaimed Republic of Crimea as a subject of international law and its annexation.

Ambassador also said about taken measures by the leadership of Ukraine, other countries and international organizations to ensure the sovereignty, territorial integrity and peaceful way out of this situation.

Jordanian side expressed his support to Ukraine calls for a peaceful, diplomatic resolve this conflict.

Ambassador also expressed gratitude to the Government and people of Jordan for the support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
