On March 9, 2014 Ambassador of Ukraine in Jordan Serhiy Pasko held solemn assembly in the Ukrainian Embassy in Amman dedicated to the 200^th Anniversary of outstanding Ukrainian poet and public figure Taras Shevchenko. Ukrainian diplomats, their families and members of Ukrainian community in the Kingdom took part in this event.

During his speech Ambassador Pasko informed about the life and works of an outstanding son of Ukrainian people poet, writer, artist, prominent public figure, folklorist, ethnographer Taras Shevchenko. The audience also watched short films dedicated to Taras Shevhenko, among them “Gen Svobody” (Genom of Freedom).
