On April 2, 2012 the second session the Joint Ukrainian-Jordanian Commission on trade and economic as well as science and technical cooperation began its work.
The Ukrainian part of the Joint Commission is headed by the Head of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine V.Tsushko. The head of the Jordanian part of the Commission is the Minister of Industry and Trade of Jordan S.Gammo.
The plenary session at the expert level was held in the frameworks of the first day of the Commission work. The Ambassador of Ukraine to Jordan S.Pasko and the General Secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Jordan M.Ali delivered speeches during the opening ceremony of the plenary session. The sides expressed hope that in the future the sessions of the Joint Commission will be held on the regularly annually basis. This will promote qualitatively raising the level of the bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Jordan.
The separate negotiations between the representatives of the ministries and agencies of both countries took place in the frameworks of the plenary session at the expert level. During the negotiations the sides discussed the wide spectrum of issues in the sphere of nuclear energy, investments, agriculture, particularly on grain supplies, plant quarantine and water culture.
The meeting of the Head of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine V.Tsushko with the Prime Minister of Jordan A.Al-Khasawneh and the Minister of Industry and Trade of Jordan S.Gammo is to be held on April 3, 2012 in the frameworks of the second day of the Commission work. The signing of the bilateral documents will be fulfilled during this meeting.
